Dr. Chung is the Korea Foundation Associate Professor of Political Science at The University of Utah and a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard University Asia Center. Her current research focuses on topics ranging from political psychology and motivated reasoning to democratic backsliding and AI. She also has extensive expertise in nationalism, identity, and international relations in Asia. Dr. Chung's first book, Pride Not Prejudice: National Identity as a Pacifying force in East Asia (U Michigan 2022) was selected as the American Library Association Choice Outstanding Academic Title. She is currently writing her second book on democratic resilience and gender politics.
